São Pedro de Alcântara
1st Patron of Brazil

Message from São Pedro de Alcântara
11/01/2013
O Brazilian people, people of My love, winners without fear of the love I have for you, I am Pedro de Alcântara and I come to this soil for the first time to give My Public Message.
My eyes rejoice the brightness of the glory of God for which I am present today, where the Holy Church commemorates all the saints to also speak to you of My love for each one of you. Descendants of My love, disciples of God's mercy, and the warmth of the saints' arms.
I Pedro, the first Brazilian patron who entered this holy ground chosen by Maria Santíssima to be called the cathedral of faith. I come to you, My people, to ask you to know more about My life and to intercede for Me and to make your requests to Me in the hour of their anguish, I Peter love you so much and I want to love you so much, it is necessary for you to remember the My life, study My manuscripts, so that you understand a little more about Me.
I know that many of you have prayed the Blessed Virgin so that I could manifest myself and give you My Messages, the whole sky is celebrating because among you, the most religious country of all hemispheres, prays with Me and answers promptly the messages and appeals of the Virgin.
See all of you how much I love you, how much I want you, how much I wish to participate in your lives of being present also here in Ferraz de Vasconcelos with this My beloved little one, to whom I revealed myself and will reveal myself many other times and which I wish to inspire in your heart a true adoration for the Eucharistic Jesus, for Mary Most Holy and for Saint Jose.
I want to make your hearts understand the greatness of serving God, I want to instill in your souls a burning flame of bondage to God so that it will never be taken from you in this or the other life doing so with these flames of love, burning in your breasts in your souls are burning with passion for our Lord, never depart from Him, you call for any seduction of the world or for any temptation of the devil.
Many of you turn away from God in times of crisis, suffering, and loneliness. But I say to you, that this is for you My brothers, My beloved and dear ones, a human state, a human moment that is nothing more than an atonement for the sins of your souls so that at last you are ready one day to understand the mysteries of glory of God and participate in it.
I, Pedro de Alcântara, am very happy to be here among you. I know that many were waiting for Me last month where the church in some places still celebrates My memory, but in this land that I love so much, the land of Santa Cruz, I was forgotten many, many centuries ago. I am no longer known and if it were not so, if it were different I would have obtained many benefits from Brazil, including the disadvantage of abortion. There would be no innocent blood on this soil, in the hands of Brazil, that is why I am needed in the midst of you. I wish to be known so that with Mary Most Holy and Saint Joseph, I can intercede for you more and more, because I reveal to you that Brazil had suffered a lot, many punishments, will still come for so much corruption, for so much greed, for so much separation from the catholic church, there is a great branch of sects, which unfortunately separated our holy church even more.
Men with their selfish size think only of profits and money of advantages and forget their spiritual, forget their suffering in the next life or even their condemnation, many are not afraid of hell because they are already part of hell, many are not afraid of God, they do not feel for God the holy fear that they should feel, why they do not believe in God, because they do not believe in themselves, do not believe in salvation and eternal life. These souls, suffered eternally in the flames, which will never end, souls who can deceive God are deceived, they deceive themselves, without knowing for sure what awaits you, these bodies will be put to graves and eaten by worms and their souls will be no different than that, they have experienced sufferings so unimaginable that their bones, even in their souls, have suffered dark rigors and there will only be lamentations, blasphemies and disorder.
So I asked the Eternal God and the Blessed Virgin that I could manifest myself to you to alert you to the danger that your flesh and your souls are in, but little brothers because the martyrdom that awaits you did not affect and afflict only your souls , more will begin with the corruption of your bodies, many souls your eyes will still see the corruption in living beings and many will be loved ones of yourselves, relatives and relatives of yourselves, because they did not seek conversion before the day of the warning.
When the warning comes to you, it will be too late and the suffering will be something so dark, so frightening that many of you will commit suicide, cause massacres, massacres, wars and much more. On the day of the warning, souls will walk lost on the earth in anguish and regret for what they did not do in life, for their conversion, for their return to God, souls will walk the land, shouting, howling, asking others still alive to be converted , to be converted so that they do not suffer in the soul as those suffer.
You Brazilian people, who are fearful and faithful, have heard My message and the Message of the Blessed Virgin so that your souls will not be forgiven in eternal damnation. Pray especially on the holy church, so that soon the triumph of the 3 United Hearts may come to you, that the triumph of the Eucharistic Kingdom of Our Lord Jesus Christ, who is much blasphemed in this sacrament, may come to you, pray, pray. Learn from your Patriarchs to trust in God, to hope in God, to live for God what awaits your lives beyond this life if not eternal life.
I ask you with gratitude that you pray the holy rosary every day and above all in these difficult times to Peter who is sitting, very faithful to the wishes of heaven, pray for the bishops, pray for the holy church, pray for each parish or community of your families, of yours your nation's cities is making a single church that turns to triumph, outside the Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church of God, of Our Lord Jesus Christ there will be no redemption for men.
Seek souls, seek souls before the warning. I Peter love you so much My people, My brothers I bless you all In the name of the Father, in the name of the Son, in the name of the Holy Spirit. Praised be our Lord Jesus Christ.

Brazil is going through a communist period, a period of civil war, a period of dangers, of traps and pitfalls. God's children do not sleep safely. The children of God are persecuted on the streets and even within your homes. The children of God are rebuked even within the holy temples and so My children, for lack of prayers, this time will extend much more to you.
The Blessed Mother, the Lady of the Ladies, the Virgin of Virgins came to you and asked you to pray the Rosary a lot, especially for this coming three months. This time in which you live is a time of lamentation, agitation and violence, but faithful and fervent prayer will be for you the shield of your protection so that nothing shakes you, nothing affects you, nothing corrupts you. Therefore, I have come for you to reinforce once more the request of My Mother, of your Mother and Mother of God to pray continually, tirelessly the Holy Rosary.
My Brazilian people, the arm of God is upon your heads, the wrath of God, the wrath of God is upon you, even the just will be taken away. I don't say that My children to worry your hearts, but for the love, for the friendship that I have for you, for everything that still awaits you, that I come.
Pray, ask for My intercession, ask in your prayers that I, Pedro de Alcântara, the first Patron of the Brazilian Empire can be with you in your difficulties, in your tribulations that being many, much will still be made worse and those who are just will still suffer a lot more. But the benevolence of heaven will walk with you, the company of heaven will be your refuge and your fortress, the Saints and Angels of heaven will be persevering with you faithful and firm, rocks sacrament in the Lord.
Souls of good faith pray, pray, if possible, also fast and offer your fast for Brazil, for the destiny that awaits Brazil. My brotherly heart pities you, but to you I make My promise to be with you always when your tongues invoke Me, when your hearts call to Me I will answer. The more you love me, the more I will love Brazil.
Still this week I will reinforce this request elsewhere, to another seer so that devotion to Me will become known throughout Brazil, what has long been forgotten and abandoned should reappear like the Sun that rises behind the mountains transposing the Light dark clouds, dissipating the darkness so I was allowed by God himself to rise in Brazil, as a powerful sign of intercession because I love you, I have for you Holy Cross My haste, My love.
I Pedro de Alcântara your brothers bless and kiss you now in the Name of the Father, in the Name of the Son and in the Name of the Holy Spirit. I wish My brothers that Peace reigns over Brazil.

My children, I Pedro de Alcântara once again make myself present among you, to give you My messages, to alert you to the danger of My Holy and beloved Land of Santa Cruz.
O Brazilian people, O My children and My devotees, where they have already conquered My heart from the beginning, why the Most Beloved Most Holy Virgin Mary here, because their eyes and the mercy and greatness of heaven hovered there.
Through this love that Mary Most Holy has for you, you have also won My love and My Heart and through this brotherly love, My maternal part on the part of Mary Most Holy Queen of all Saints and Martyrs, I have you as My people and I want to be your patron intercessor for you.
This month, when My Church celebrates me as Patron of the Brazilian empire, I come to you first to thank you for the great disclosures you had about Me, My existence, My stay in Brazil and among you.
Great graces reached Brazil for these merits, for this compassion that My children had, with My Heart, with My priestly, with My humble, singular life, but full of love and charity.
O My brothers, My devotees and children of My soul, begotten from My heart, I come to you to teach you the value of prayer, tireless and constant. It is necessary that you learn to practice charity so that your works may be recognized in heaven, by the merits of Christ's own passion, just as He gave himself as a Lamb, so that you learn to give yourself entirely to God and to your neighbor. .
May prayers be the support, the foundation to assure your souls and to feed your Spirits in the Hours of difficulty, tribulation and persecution that My people and My brothers suffer a lot.
He who prays is indeed persecuted, humiliated, scorned, but he is already the winner, heir to heaven and the glory of God.
Do not be dismayed, nor do you give in to difficulties and tribulations, I, as the patron of your empire, your friend and your brothers will always be at your side supporting you, correcting you, nourishing you, guiding you and for you and interceding with God and Watch Mary so that they are always firm and in serenity with God.
Today, where the Church celebrates Me, I come to you to give My blessing full of love, thanking you once again, for making My name already forgotten in Brazil, known in some places. I hope that this love for Me increases more and more every day and that many and many disclosures of My existence and My intercession are made even more.
I, Pedro de Alcântara, your friend and your brother, your Imperial Patron, bless you all in the Name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. May the Lord remain with you
History of São Pedro de Alcântara
Pedro Gavarito was born in Alcântara, Spain, in 1499, the year of the publication of the Bull on indulgences, which would be used by Luther as a pretext for his rebellion against Rome. From a noble family, his father was a coroner and mayor of the city.
His biographer says that “the boy had pleasant features, he was vigorous, slender in shape and well served by natural gifts. It retained a text by heart after the first reading, which allowed it to quote the shortest verse in the Bible without mistake ” . (1)
Pedro studied philosophy at the University of Salamanca. Despite being in his early teens, he was already an ascetic. He devoted most of his free time to prayer, visiting the sick and incarcerated, helping the poor with their alms. At 15, he was already a kind of spiritual director of a group of fellow students.
The year 1515, which saw Luther's first revolt against the Church and the birth of Saint Teresa, also saw the entry of Peter, at the age of 16, into an observant Franciscan convent. For this, he left hidden from the family. The night was dark. On the way he found a wide river. He ordered himself to God, and a sudden wind, enveloping him, carried him to the other bank. This was the first great miracle of the countless children to whom this son of Saint Francis was subjected.
Mortification at the source of holiness
Peter was determined to become a saint by the strictest observance of the rules, heroic silence, and total detachment from the first moment of his religious life. His superior helped him, proving him in every way. For example, ordering him, even though he is ecstatic, during prayer, to perform the most unpleasant tasks.
But the worst was facing the sleeping demon. It was only time for the common prayer to come, and an invincible fatigue was looming over him. As Friar Pedro will later confess to Santa Teresa, he undertook a heroic and tenacious fight against sleep. And he won it thanks to the drastic measures he took: in addition to mortification and continuous fasting, he did not allow rest for more than an hour and a half; and even so, on his knees, with his chin resting on a board; or sitting, leaning against the wall.
The demon did not give up, and pursued him in other ways. Since he was unable to subdue him by sleep, he pursued him with noises and crashes in the little time devoted to rest. Sometimes he even knocked the friar on the floor, almost suffocating him. On other occasions he threw stones at him, which his fellow students found in his cell the next day.
Fruitful preacher and high mystical life
At the age of 25, despite his reluctance, Friar Pedro was ordained a priest. With him, obedience often had to overcome humility.
His biographer says that “the mass of Frei Pedro de Alcântara was worth a mission. One could feel the sublime familiarity that united him to Christ ”.
He received orders to preach, and “ everyone was amazed at the depth of his doctrine, the warmth of his word”, his “manly and robust eloquence, all steeped in Sacred Scripture, strangely uniting the graces of the Beatitudes with John's lashes. Batista ”.
The “worst” thing for Frei Pedro was that God was pleased to show publicly the graces he granted him. Sometimes he was raptured in ecstasy, in the middle of the street, when he was begging for the convent. Or in the church, in front of all your confreres and the faithful. This, for him, was the greatest torment.
Like St. Joseph of Cupertino, “sometimes a single word took him so much, that he began to shout unintelligible screams, went out of his mind, and was suspended in the air”. (2)
Penance at the root of heavenly glory
Frei Pedro's terrible penances, disciplines, fasts and other mortifications made him almost a skeleton. Santa Teresa describes it as made of tree roots. She herself witnessed how pleasing this penance was to God, seeing him, shortly after death, ascend to heaven in the midst of a brilliant glow, saying to him: “Oh! blessed penance, which has earned me such a weight of glory! ”
If Frei Pedro was a penitent, he was not therefore a sad saint; on the contrary, he detested sadness: “he rejoiced in the woods, on the tops of the mountains, on the edge of the clear streams. The birds, in their cheerful twirls, came to rest on his shoulders ”. And St. Teresa testifies: “In all holiness, he was very affable, although he spoke little when not questioned; but in the few words he said it was very pleasant, because he had a good view of things ”.
The nobility, submissive to the great Saint
Frei Pedro was running away from fame, and fame haunted him. His reputation came to Portugal, and D. João III asked him as a confessor. Obedience forced him to accept. He transformed the Portuguese Court into a model of virtue. In addition, there were countless numbers of gentlemen of both sexes who abandoned everything to live in the most extreme poverty.
“At her advice, Queen Catherine made her palace a school of virtue and devotion. Infante D. Luís, brother of the king, had the Salvaterra convent built in his favor, and withdrew to live there as the poorest of the religious, after having sold his furniture and equipment, paid his debts and took a solemn vow. poverty and chastity ”. And the saint had to intervene to force the prince to moderate his mortifications. “Infanta Maria, her sister, also took a vow of chastity and employed all her assets in the service of Our Lord” , (3) building, for example, the Hospital da Misericórdia and a convent of Poor Clares. In addition, there were countless nobles, both in Portugal and in Spain, who joined the Third Order of Penance, due to their influence: “The bunting [fabric of religious habit] he used was too famous for the great names of Spain do not dispute the honor of a piece under the ermine, under the silk or under the purple ”.
Emperor Carlos V and his daughter, Princess Joan, wanted him as a confessor; but Frei Pedro was able to refuse this onerous honor without hurting them.
Patron of Brazil
“Since His Royal and Imperial Majesty received, under the name of Pedro I… the mission of governing and directing this people… he was convinced… and he was persuaded that he could not rule and administer business of this Nation, without first being interested in having a heavenly Patron who, through his intercession with God, would assure him the means of acting well, directing and managing well.
“There was no need for long reflection. Already for the special devotion that he had for São Pedro de Alcântara .... already for bringing, as emperor, the very name of the saint, he decided to choose him as the main patron of the entire empire ... May Pope Leo XII, deign with his apostolic benevolence, confirm the choice ”. This was done on May 31, 1826.
It is regrettable that this feast, once so solemnly celebrated in the Empire, fell into oblivion with the advent of the Republic, so that few Brazilians are now aware that São Pedro de Alcântara is the patron of our nation.

Excellent Reformer of Religious Orders
In the year 1538, the Chapter of Barefoot Observants - who followed the primitive rule - elected Friar Pedro de Alcântara as Provincial. He took the opportunity to reform this Franciscan branch, adding greater severity to the rules and new exercises, making it easier for those who wished to indulge in recollection and contemplation. Hence the name they received from Franciscans Recollects.
Soon his reform would spread throughout Europe, extending to the ends of India and Japan.
He also worked to establish Convent of Poor Clares in Spain, renovated by Santa Coleta, and was one of the greatest supports for the reform of Santa Teresa de Jesus.
Mainstay of St. Teresa of Jesus
Sor Teresa de Jesus was in the greatest desolation. Experiencing the highest phenomena of mystical life, it was not understood by its directors, sisters in habit, nor by the people in general, because in 16th century Spain religious matter was fortunately of general interest. Alerted by everyone, I was afraid of being a victim of illusions and the devil's plaything.
Meanwhile, Friar Pedro de Alcântara had to go to Ávila. In the first words exchanged with the Carmelite, he not only confirmed the divine origin of his appearances, but encouraged her to release candles to the action of the Divine Holy Spirit.
When Santa faced the most terrible opposition to her reform project, he was her great ally, smoothing out the obstacles and leading her to victory.
A divine friendship was established between the two saints, which did not end with the death of Frei Pedro, prophesied by her a year earlier.
"I have seen him many times with great glory," writes Santa Teresa. And “it seems to me that it consoles me a lot more now than when I was here [on Earth]”.
A statement that is an incentive for us to be more devoted to this great Patron of Brazil: “The Lord said to me once, that you would not be asked for things in his name that He would not heed. Many, which I have commissioned you to ask [for me] of the Lord, I saw them attended to. ”(4)
Blessed penance that earned me such great glory!
Frei Pedro de Alcântara had long lived practically a miracle, consumed by penances, fasts and work. Devoured by a fever and contrary to his habits, he accepted an ass to go to Ávila in aid of Mother Teresa, who had encountered new difficulties in the foundation of her first renovated monastery.
With a companion, they stopped near an inn. With all the discomfort of the fever, the saint stretched out on the floor, placing his folded cloak on a stone to serve as a pillow. That was when the innkeeper appeared, screaming at them because the donkey had entered his garden, devouring some cabbages. Seeing that the friar was insensitive to injury, the angry woman pulled on the mantle placed under his head. It hit the stone violently, causing a deep wound.
He had hardly chosen his wife, for at that moment a nobleman arrived to meet with Friar Pedro, whom he considered a true saint. Seeing him with a bleeding head, he was indignant at the vixen, incontinently ordering his men to set the inn on fire and put its inhabitants to the sword. It was necessary for Frei Pedro to use all his gift of persuasion to avoid catastrophe.
Feeling that his end had come, Frei Pedro asked to be taken to the convent of Arenas, where he greeted death with the Psalm: “It fills me with joy to know that I am going to the house of the Lord”. Assisted by Our Lady and Saint John the Evangelist, he gave his beautiful soul to God on October 18, 1562, at the age of 63.
“God has now taken the blessed Friar Pedro de Alcântara to us! exclaimed Santa Teresa. “The world could no longer suffer so much perfection.” (5)
Gregory XV beatified him in 1622, and Clement IX elevated him to the honor of the altars in 1669.
